Hood Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the hood (4).
2. Install protective covers over the front fenders in order to prevent paint damage.
Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
3. Mark the position of the hood hinges (3) to the hood (4) in order to ease the assembly process.
4. Remove the 2 bolts that retain the hood to each hinge (3).
5. With the help of an assistant, remove the hood (4) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Anti-Corrosion Materials Notice in Cautions and Notices.
1. Align the hood (4) with the position marks. Secure the hood with 4 retaining bolts. Do NOT completely tighten the bolts.
2. Adjust the following clearances: Refer to Body Front End Adjustment Specifications (2 Door) ()Body Front End Adjustment Specifications (4 Door) ().
* The hood to the air inlet grille panel (1)
* The hood to the headlamp
* The hood to the front fender
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
3. Adjust the vertical adjustment of the bumpers (1) by turning up or down. Refer to Body Front End Adjustment Specifications (2 Door) ()Body Front End Adjustment Specifications (4 Door) ().
Tighten the hood retaining bolts to 27 Nm (20 lb ft).
4. Lower the hood.
