27. Piston and Connecting Rod Assemble

Important: Install the piston onto the connecting rod with the marks oriented toward the front of the engine (2).

Coat the piston pin with engine oil.
Push the piston pin into the piston pin bore by hand.





1. Assemble the connecting rod and the piston.

Important: Ensure that the end gap of the piston pin snap ring is not aligned with the pin hole cutout portion of the piston.





2. Install new snap rings using a small screwdriver.

Notice: Use a piston ring expander to install the piston rings. The rings may be damaged if expanded more than necessary.





3. Install the following components of the assembly for the bottom oil control ring:
3.1. The expander
3.2. The lower oil control ring
3.3. The upper control ring
4. Install the lower compression ring for the second ring. Place the manufacturer's mark facing up.
5. Install the upper compression ring for the top ring. Place the manufacturer's mark facing up.

Important: After installing the three rings, ensure that the end gaps of the piston rings are distributed correctly.





6. Coat the installed piston rings with oil.
