38. Speedometer Driven Gear and VSS Assemble

- Tools Required
- J 36850 Transjel(R) Transmission Assembly Lubricant





1. Inspect the speedometer driven gear (711) and the driven gear case O-ring (7150) for damage. Replace as necessary.
2. Install the speedometer driven gear case (710) into the transaxle case. Lubricate the driven gear case O-ring (7150) with J 36850.
3. Install the speedometer driven gear case retaining bolt (709).
- Tighten the speedometer driven gear case retaining bolt to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).





4. Inspect the vehicle speed sensor O-ring (7151) for damage. Replace as necessary.
5. Install the vehicle speed sensor (712) into the transaxle case.
6. Install the vehicle speed sensor retaining bolt (713).
- Tighten the vehicle speed sensor retaining bolt to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
