Hood Adjustment
Adjustment Procedure
1. Loosen the bolts for the hood latch.
2. Adjust the front hood bumpers on the radiator support until the hood (1) aligns with the front of the fenders. Turn the bumper in the following directions:
* Clockwise in order to lower the bumper
* Counterclockwise in order to raise the bumper
3. Measure the difference between the hood and the rear of the fender.
4. Obtain a shim that is the same thickness as the difference between the hood and the rear of the fender.
5. Loosen the hood hinge bolts.
6. Install the shim between the hood hinge and the hood.
7. Tighten the hood latch bolts by hand until they are snug.
8. Position the hood latch upward.
9. Tighten the hood latch bolts by hand until they are snug.
10. Carefully close the hood in order to engage the following components:
* The hood striker
* The hood latch
11. Adjust the clearance between the hood and fender.
12. Carefully open the hood.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
13. Fully tighten the hood latch bolts.
Tighten the hood latch bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
14. Fully tighten the hood hinge bolts.
Tighten the hood latch bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
