Dome Lamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

The dome lamp operates in conjunction with the door jamb switch and/or the dome lamp switch. The dome lamp harness extends up the left windshield pillar outboard of the sunshade support and across the root inner panel to the dome lamp.




1. Remove the dome lens (1).
Pry gently with a flat-bladed tool.




2. Remove the dome lamp (2). Pull gently on bulb to disengage the retainers.
3. Drill out the dome lamp assembly retainer rivets (3).
4. Disconnect the electrical connection (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the electrical connector (1).
2. Install the dome lamp assembly (2).




3. Install the dome lamp assembly retaining rivets (3).
4. Install the dome compound to the bulb retainers.
5. Install the dome lens (1) insuring the unity locks into place.
