Instrument Panel Compartment Door Lock Cylinder Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important:
Servicing the I/P compartment door lock cylinder will result in a small hole left in the inside top edge of the compartment door. The customer should be advised of this before servicing the lock cylinder.

1. Open the I/P compartment door in order to expose the small dimple located above the lock cylinder.

2. Use a 3 mm (1/8 in) drill bit in order to drill out the dimple.

3. Insert the key into the lock cylinder.

4. Insert a very small screw driver or pick into the drilled hole and apply pressure to the lock cylinder release tab.

5. Rotate the key in the lock cylinder using the key to pull the lock cylinder from the I/P compartment door.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the lock cylinder into the I/P compartment door until fully seated into place.

2. Inspect the operation of the lock cylinder before closing the I/P compartment door.
