Flexplate to Torque Converter Bolts

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle.
2. Remove the transmission converter cover bolts and cover.





3. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Starting and Charging.
4. Remove the 3 bolts one at a time then attach the converter to the flywheel.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the bolts that attach the converter to the flywheel one at a time.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 62 Nm (46 ft. lbs.). Re-torque the first bolts after all 3 bolts have been tightened.





2. Install the converter cover and bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
3. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Starting and Charging.
4. Lower the vehicle.
