Door Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: When removing a power window switch, the ignition switch must be in the OFF position. This will eliminate the possibility of shorting out the power window switch if a flat-bladed tool, awl or metal object is used to remove the power window switch from the wiring harness.




1. Apply protective coating/tape at the rear of this front door power window switch (right and/or left door).
2. Remove the front door power window switch from the front door trim panel using a small flat bladed tool, inserted at the rear of the front door power window switch.
Press forward in order to release the front door power window switch retainer.
3. Remove the front door power window switch from the mounting plate.
4. Remove the power mirror switch.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the front door power mirror switch.




6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the front door power window switch.
7. Remove the door lock switch.
8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the front door lock switch.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the front door power window switch tabs into the mounting plate slots, pressing in until fully seated.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the front door power window switch.
3. Install the power mirror switch.
4. Connect the electrical connector to the front door power mirror switch.




5. Install the door lock switch.
6. Connect the electrical connector to the front door lock switch.
7. Install the front door power switches and mounting plate into the front door trim panel, pressing in until fully seated.
