Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine air cleaner.
3. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
4. Remove the compressor hose nut (1) from the condenser.




5. Position the compressor hose aside from the condenser.




6. Remove the compressor hose nut (2) from the accumulator.




7. Position the compressor hose aside from the accumulator.

IMPORTANT: Remove and discard all the used O-rings and sealing washers.




8. Remove the bolt and compressor hose at the compressor.
9. Remove the compressor hose assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the compressor hose assembly.

IMPORTANT: Lubricate the new O-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

2. Install the new O-rings onto the compressor hose assembly.
3. Install the sealing washers onto the compressor hose assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the compressor hose assembly and bolt at the rear of the compressor.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose bolt to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).




5. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.




6. Install the compressor hose nut (2) onto the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).




7. Install the compressor hose to the condenser.




8. Install the compressor hose nut (1).

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

9. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
10. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
11. Install the engine air cleaner.
