Removal Procedure1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Steering and Suspension.
3. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine in Body and Frame.
4. Remove the right stabilizer shaft link from the right lower control arm. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
5. Remove the right tie rod end from the right steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
6. Remove the right lower ball joint from the right steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
7. Disconnect the right drive axle from the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement (Left) or Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement (Right).
8. Secure the right drive axle to the right steering knuckle and strut.
9. Use a screwdriver or other suitable tool in order to pry out the seal. Do NOT damage the seal bore.
Installation Procedure

- J 29130 Right Side Axle Seal Installer
- J 37292-B Axle Seal Protector
1. Use a light wipe of transaxle fluid in order to lubricate the seal lip.
2. Use J 29130 in order to install a new seal (4).
3. Install J 37292-B in the seal.
Important: Carefully guide the axle shaft past the lip seal. Do NOT allow the shaft splines to contact any portion of the seal lip surface or damage to the seal will occur.
4. Connect the drive axle to the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement (Left) or Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement (Right).
5. Remove the J 37292-B.
6. Install the right lower ball joint to the right steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
7. Install the right tie rod end to the right steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
8. Install the right stabilizer shaft link to the right steering knuckle. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
9. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine in Body and Frame.
10. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Steering and Suspension.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Adjust the fluid level.
13. Inspect for proper completion of the repairs.
14. Inspect for proper fluid level.
15. Inspect for fluid leaks.
