Antenna: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 38536-A Antenna Bezel Socket




1. Remove the antenna mast.
3. Reposition the remote compact disc player, if equipped. Refer to Remote CD Player Replacement.
4. Remove the right side rear compartment trim.




5. Use the J 38536-A in order to remove the radio fixed antenna bezel retaining nut.




6. Remove the antenna bezel.
7. Disconnect the antenna extension cable from the fixed antenna.
8. Remove the fixed antenna.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the fixed antenna.
2. Install the antenna bezel
3. Loosely install the antenna bezel retaining nut.
4. Connect the antenna extension cable to the fixed antenna.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




5. Use the J 38536-A in order to tighten the radio fixed antenna bezel retaining nut.

Tighten
Tighten the radio fixed antenna bezel retaining nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

6. Install the right side rear compartment trim.
7. Install the remote compact disc player, if equipped.




8. Close the rear compartment.
9. Install the antenna mast.
