Vacuum Solenoid Valve HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the right instrument panel insulator.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the vacuum electric solenoid.




3. Disconnect the vacuum harness connector from the vacuum electric solenoid.




4. Remove the vacuum electric solenoid mounting bolts.

IMPORTANT: Pull the control solenoid straight down to release the tab from the slot in the HVAC module case.

5. Remove the vacuum electric solenoid.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Align the vacuum electric solenoid valve tab to the slot in the HVAC module case, then push up to seat the control solenoid.
2. Install the retaining bolts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the vacuum electric solenoid mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the vacuum electric solenoid bolts to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).




4. Connect the vacuum harness connector to the vacuum control solenoid.




5. Connect the electrical connector to the vacuum electric solenoid.
6. Install the right instrument panel insulator.
