Compressor Hose Assembly ReplacementREMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine air cleaner.
3. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
4. Remove the compressor hose nut (1) at the condenser.
5. Position the compressor hose aside at the condenser.
6. Remove the compressor hose nut (2) at the accumulator.
7. Position the compressor hose aside at the accumulator.
8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
9. Remove the lower air deflector.
10. Remove and discard all the used O-rings and sealing washers.
11. Remove the nut and the compressor hose assembly at the compressor.
12. Remove the compressor hose assembly.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the compressor hose assembly.
IMPORTANT: The new O-ring seals must be lubricated with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Install new O-ring seals onto the compressor hose assembly.
Install new sealing washers onto the compressor hose assembly
3. Install the hose assembly to the rear of the compressor.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the compressor hose assembly nut.
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose assembly nut to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
5. Install the lower air deflector.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.
8. Install the compressor hose nut (2) the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
9. Install the compressor hose to the condenser.
10. Install the compressor hose nut (1).
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
12. Inspect the A/C system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
13. Install the engine air cleaner.
14. Connect the negative battery cable.
