Fuel Pump resistor Replacement1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Remove the right front fender liner.
3. Remove the washer solvent container.
4. Disconnect the fuel pump resistor electrical connector (1).
5. Carefully remove the fuel pump resistor pigtail (2) from the chassis.
6. Remove the fuel pump resistor attaching bolt (4).
7. Remove the fuel pump resistor (3).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the fuel pump resistor (3) epoxy side onto the chassis.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
2. Install the fuel pump resistor bolt (4).
Tighten the fuel pump resistor bolt to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
3. Secure the pigtail along the chassis (2).
4. Connect the fuel pump electrical connector (1).
5. Install the washer solvent container.
6. Install the right. front fender liner.
