Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble

Assembly Procedure





1. Install the lock bolt spring (3) into the steering column tilt head assembly (5).
2. Position the cutout in the lock bolt assembly (4) at the 6 o' clock position.
3. Install the lock bolt assembly (4) into the steering column tilt head assembly (5).
4. Push the lock bolt assembly (4) into the steering column tilt head assembly (5) until the lock bolt assembly (4) is flush with the steering column tilt head assembly (5).
5. Align the lock module assembly (2) with the steering column tilt head assembly (5).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Screw the 3 pan head tapping screws (1) into the lock module assembly (2).
Tighten the 3 pan head tapping screws to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
7. Install the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1) onto the lock module assembly.





8. Screw the 2 tapping screws (2) into the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1).
Tighten the 2 tapping screws to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).





9. Install the electric park lock (2) onto the lock module assembly (1).





10. Screw 1 TORX(R) head screw (1) into the electric park lock (3).
Tighten the TORX(R) head screw to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).
11. Reconnect the connector (2) to the electric park lock (3).





12. Install the key alarm connector (1) onto the lock module assembly (2).
12.1. Push the key alarm connector (1) into the lock module assembly (2).
12.2. Rotate the key alarm connector 90 (1) degrees so that the key alarm connector locks into place.
13. Install the steering column lock cylinder set.





14. Slide the PASSKEY III (2) onto the lock module assembly (1).
15. Install the upper tilt head components. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle.
