B3137

Diagnostic Chart:

Schematic:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION,
The remote keyless entry keyfob sends a radio signal to the body control module (BCM) to lock all of the doors when the keyfob lock button is pressed. When the BCM receives the lock signal, the BCM applies battery voltage to the door lock relay control circuit. Ground for the door lock relay is supplied at all times.

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The remote keyless entry keyfob lock button is pressed to lock the doors.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
^ The BCM receives the lock signal from the keyfob.
^ The door lock relay control circuit is shorted to ground for 250 milliseconds.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN DTC SETS
The BCM disables the door lock relay control output for the remainder of the ignition cycle.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ A current DTC B3137 will clear when the malfunction is no longer present and the ignition switch is cycled.
^ All BCM history codes clear after 100 ignition cycles with no current codes active during the 100 ignition cycles.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ If the door lock relay control circuit is open, the keyfob will be unable to lock the doors, but the door mounted switch will operate properly.
^ Pressing the door lock switch while the door lock relay control circuit is shorted to ground is a direct short to battery and will blow the PWR ACC fuse.

TEST DESCRIPTION
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
2. Listen for an audible click when the door lock relay operates. Command both the ON and OFF states. Repeat the commands as necessary.
3. Verities that the BCM is providing voltage to the door lock relay.
4. Tests for an open in the ground circuit to the door lock relay.
5. Tests if voltage is constantly being applied to the door lock relay.
