Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the rear seat back.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion.
3. Remove the two screws from the rear-most end of the carpet retainer (11).
4. Remove the front seat belt retractor anchor bolt cap (8) and bolt (9).
5. Pry the courtesy lamp assembly (6) from the courtesy lamp retainer (7).
6. Disconnect the wire harness from the courtesy lamp.
7. Bend the tabs in order to remove the courtesy lamp retainer (7) from the quarter trim panel (4), if required.
8. Remove the quarter trim panel retaining screws (5).
9. Pull the quarter trim panel (4) inboard in order to clear the carpet retainer.
10. Remove the front retractor belt end through the slot in the quarter trim panel.
11. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speaker (2).
12. Remove the quarter trim panel (4) from the vehicle.
13. Remove the retainers and sound deadener, if required:

Installation Procedure




1. Install the sound deadener and the retainers, if removed:
2. Install the courtesy lamp retainer (7), if removed.
Bend the retainer tabs in order to secure the retainer to the quarter trim panel (4).
3. Position the quarter trim panel (4) in the vehicle.
4. Connect the electrical connector to the speaker (2).
5. Press the courtesy lamp assembly (6) into the courtesy lamp retainer (7).
Connect the wire harness.
6. Install the quarter trim panel (4). Route the front retractor belt end through the slot in the quarter trim panel.
7. Engage the panel retainer clips to the quarter structure.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

8. Install the quarter trim panel screws (5).

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

9. Install the front seat belt retractor anchor bolt (9).

Tighten the seat belt retractor bolt to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

10. Install the front seat belt retractor anchor bolt cover (8).
11. Install the carpet retainer screw (11).
12. Install the rear seat cushion.
13. Install the rear seat back.
