Brake Pedal Assy: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the left sound insulator panel.
2. Disconnect the pushrod (10) from the brake pedal.
3. Disconnect the accelerator cable.





4. Remove the brake
pedal assembly nuts (2) and the brake pedal assembly (1).





5. Disconnect the following electrical connections:
^ The cruise control switch (3), if equipped.
^ The brake switch (4)

Installation Procedure





1. Connect the following electrical connections:
^ The cruise control switch (3), if equipped.
^ The brake switch (4)





2. Install the brake pedal assembly (1).
3. Install the brake pedal assembly nuts.

^ Tighten the brake pedal assembly nuts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).





4. Connect the accelerator cable.
5. Connect the pushrod (10) to the brake pedal.
6. Install the left sound insulator panel.
