Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet splash shield.
2. Remove the LH headlamp assembly retaining screws.
3. Remove the LH headlamp assembly.
4. Disconnect the LH headlamp electrical connector(s).
5. Remove the front air cleaner intake duct upper push in retainer (1).
6. Remove the LF tire and wheel.
7. Remove the LF wheel house panel.
8. Remove the front air cleaner intake duct lower push in retainer (4).
9. Remove the front air cleaner intake duct (3) through headlamp assembly opening.
10. Remove the resonator rear push in retainer and upper attaching bolt (5).
11. Remove the resonator assembly through wheel house opening.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the resonator assembly through the wheel house opening.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the resonator rear push in retainer and the upper attaching bolt (5).

Tighten
Tighten the Resonator upper attaching bolt to 7 N.m (61 lb in).

3. Install the front air cleaner intake duct (3) through the headlamp assembly opening.
4. Install the front air cleaner intake duct lower push in retainer (4).
5. Install the LF wheel house panel.
6. Install the LF tire and wheel.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Install the front air cleaner intake duct upper push in retainer (1).
9. Install the LH headlamp electrical connector(s).
10. Install the headlamp assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

11. Install the LH headlamp assembly retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the headlamp assembly retaining screws to 7 N.m (61 lb in).

12. Install the air cleaner outlet splash shield.
