Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the driver side sound insulator.
2. Remove the electrical connection (5, 6).
3. Disconnect the brake switch (7) by grasping the switch and turning it one quarter turn counter clockwise while pulling toward the rear of the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Insert the stop lamp switch (7) into the retainer and turn one quarter clockwise until switch body is seated on the retainer.
2. Connect the electrical connector (5, 6).
3. Adjust the stoplamp switch. Refer to Stoplamp Switch Adjustment.
4. Install the driver's side sound insulator.
