FRONT WHEEL BEARING/HUB

Removal Procedure





1. Raise the vehicle on; a hoist. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
3. Remove the drive axle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.
4. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement in Brakes and Traction Control.
5. Remove the bolts (1) and washers (2) from the hub and bearing assembly (3).





6. Remove the hub and bearing assembly (1) from the steering knuckle (2).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the hub and bearing assembly (1) into the steering knuckle (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the hub and bearing bolts (1) and the washers (2).
^ Tighten the bolts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement in Brakes and Traction Control.
4. Install the drive axle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.
5. Install the tire and wheel assemblies Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
6. Inspect the front wheel alignment. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment (Front).
