SIR Steering Wheel Module Coil - Assemble

Assembly Procedure

- Tools Required
- J 41352 Modular Column Holding Fixture





1. Align the block tooth on the race and upper shaft assembly to the 12 o'clock position.
2. Turn the key to the off position and remove the key.





3. Install the wave washer (2).

Important: A new SIR coil assembly (1) will be pre-centered. Do not remove the centering tab from the new SIR coil assembly (1) until the installation is complete.

4. If reusing the original SIR coil assembly (1), refer to Inflatable Restraint Coil Centering - Off Vehicle (Column Shift And Floor Shift)
5. Install the SIR coil download to the wire restraint clip (3).





6. Align the SIR coil assembly (4) with the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1).
7. Slide the SIR coil assembly (4) onto the steering shaft assembly (2).
8. Firmly seat the retaining ring (3) into the groove on the steering shaft assembly (2).
9. Remove the centering tab from the new SIR coil assembly (4).





10. Install the wire harness straps to the wire harness assembly.
11. Remove the steering column and J 41352 from the vise.
