90. Case Cover Components Inspection
1. Clean the flange, which is located between the case and the case cover, of any gasket material that remained on the cover during disassembly.
IMPORTANT: Do not damage the flange during the following cleaning procedure.
2. Inspect the flange for nicks, burrs, or damage.
3. Inspect the case cover for distortion, cracks, porosity, or plugged or damaged oil passages.
4. Inspect the 1-2 accumulator bore for porosity, wear, or damage.
5. Inspect the 1-2 accumulator spring (419) for nicks, bent coils, or distortion.
6. Inspect the 1-2 accumulator piston (421) for damaged seal grooves or wear in the piston pin hole.
7. Inspect the vent (404) for damage or plugged passages. Replace the vent if necessary.
8. Inspect the cooler fittings (17) for damaged threads or sign of leakage. Replace the fittings if necessary.
9. Inspect bore and axle seal for nicks or damage.
10. Inspect the detent roller and spring assembly (40) for damage or distortion. Replace the assembly if necessary.
11. Inspect the sleeve in the case cover that supports the pump shaft for damage or scoring. Replace the case cover if the sleeve is damaged or if the sleeve is not serviceable.
12. Inspect the electrical connector (408) for bent or broken pins, or for a missing or damaged lock tab tang.
13. Inspect the manual valve (406) for freedom of movement and for nicks or scratches.
14. Inspect the thrust washer (414) between the case cover and the drive sprocket for nicks, scratches, or cracks.
