Shift Control Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the cable at the PNP switch.





2. Remove the cable from the cable bracket.





3. Remove the center console. Refer to one of the following procedures.
4. Remove the cable at the shift control assembly.





5. Remove the cable grommet at the cowl.





6. Remove the cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the cable through the cowl.





2. Install the cable at the shift control assembly
3. Install the center control.




4. Install the cable at the transmission cable bracket.





5. Install the cable at the transmission selector lever.
6. Adjust the cable.
7. Place the shift lever in NEUTRAL. You can find NEUTRAL by rotating the selector shaft clockwise from PARK through REVERSE to NEUTRAL.
8. Place the shift control assembly in NEUTRAL.
9. Pull the cable locking clip fully upward.
10. Push the on the cable adjuster in order to adjust cable in the cable mounting bracket.
