Power Windows - Inoperative - Lockout Function
TEST DESCRIPTIONSteps 1-9:
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the passenger window lockout option is selected as ON in the vehicle owner customization menu.
If the window lockout selection is OFF, set it to ON and verify that the fault is still present.
3. This step determines if the DDM recognizes the lockout switch input from the DDSA. The scan tool will normally display Idle for the Window Lockout Sw until the window lockout switch button is pressed. At that time the scan tool should momentarily display Active and then return to Idle.
4. This step determines if the indicator is operating properly. When the ignition key is first turned On, the indicator on the window lockout switch button should not be illuminated. The indicator should illuminate when the switch button is first pressed. The indicator should then go out if the switch button is pressed a second time.
