Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure

The hood latch is attached to the radiator support. The fastener holes are elongated in order to help in adjustment.




1. Remove the fasteners (1) that secure the hood latch (2) to the radiator support.




2. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood latch (1).
3. Remove the hood latch (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the hood release cable (1) to the hood latch.




2. Install the hood latch (2) to the radiator support.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the hood latch fasteners (1).

Tighten the fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Adjust the hood primary latch (2). Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment.
