Sunroof Replacement

J 44363 Sunroof Alignment Pins

Removal Procedure

Notice: Use care when removing or installing the headliner. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.

1. Remove the headliner.
2. If reinstalling the original sunroof, cycle the glass panel to the rear.
If replacing the sunroof with a new replacement unit, remove the sunroof glass panel.
3. Disconnect the electrical harness.




4. Cut the tie wraps from the drain hoses.
5. Remove the drain hoses from the sunroof module.




6. Remove the sunroof module to the roof fasteners (1).
7. Remove the sunroof module.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the sunroof module into the roof opening.
2. Hand start the sunroof module fasteners into the roof.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Use the J 44363 in order to align the sunroof to the sunroof opening. Install the alignment pins through the sunroof alignment holes (2) into the roof alignment holes.

Tighten the sunroof module to roof fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Remove the alignment pins.




5. Install the drain hoses to the drain spouts on the sunroof module.

Important: When installing the new drain hose tie wraps, position the tie wraps to maintain clearance between the tie wraps and the headliner.

6. Secure the drain hoses to the sunroof module with new tie wraps.
7. Connect the electrical harness to the sunroof module.
8. If the sunroof glass panel was removed, install the sunroof glass panel.
9. Adjust the sunroof glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment.
10. Verify proper operation of the sunroof.
11. Install the headliner.
