Charging System
BATTERY SAVER ACTIVE -27 (WITH DIC)The IPC illuminates the BATTERY SAVER ACTIVE - 27 indicator in the DIC when the PCM detects that the battery is in a heavy discharge condition for a long period of time. The blower fans, rear defogger, heated seats, and heated mirrors are disabled. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
CHARGING SYSTEM (WITH BOOST GAUGE)
The IPC illuminates the charging system indicator when the following occurs:
^ The ignition is ON, with the engine OFF. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.
^ The PCM detects a malfunction in the charging system. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
^ The IPC detects that the system voltage is less than 10.5 volts or greater than 16.2 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the Dash Integration Module (DIM) indicating the system voltage. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
^ The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the DIM and the IPC detects that the system voltage is less than 10.5 volts or greater than 16.2 volts. The IPC uses the battery positive voltage circuit in order to control the charging system indicator when the IPC loses communication with the DIM. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
CHECK CHARGE SYSTEM -102 (WITH DIC)
The IPC illuminates the CHECK CHARGE SYSTEM - 102 indicator in the DIC when the PCM detects a malfunction in the charging system. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
CHECK GAGES VOLT -9 (WITH DIC)
The IPC illuminates the CHECK GAGES VOLT - 9 indicator in the DIC when the following occurs:
^ (Volt gauge) The ignition is ON, with the engine OFF. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.
