Service Bay Test

The scan tool includes the service bay test for some systems, depending on the vehicle make and depending on the model. Use the EVAP service bay test in order to test the EVAP system. This test will indicate any failed DTC codes or indicate that the EVAP system passed. You may use the EVAP Service Bay Test in order to test the EVAP system after repairs are completed. This test takes some time to run.

IMPORTANT: Verify that the vehicle meets the following requirements before performing the evaporative emissions (EVAP) service bay test. Failure to meet the necessary requirements may cause inaccurate test results.

^ The Diagnostic System Check has been performed, and no DTCs set.
^ The battery voltage is between 9-18 volts.
^ The fuel level is 15-85 percent of capacity, or between 1/4 to 3/4 full.
^ The ignition is ON, and the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) is 5-70°C (40-158°F).
^ The I/M system status monitor for the EVAP system must display NO.
^ The start-up intake air temperature is 4-30°C (30-86°F).
^ The vehicle speed is less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph).
^ The throttle angle is less than 2 percent.
^ The Barometric Pressure (BARO) is more than 75 kPa (10.8 psi).

After meeting the above conditions, follow the instructions on the scan tool.

Exit if any of the above conditions are not met upon activating the service bay test. Run the test when the above conditions have been achieved.
