Multifunction, Turn Signal Lever

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the steering wheel.

3. Remove the tilt lever.
Service and Repair

4. Remove the lower steering column trim cover retaining screws (2).





5. Remove the lower steering column trim cover.
- Tilt the shroud down and slide back to disengage the locking tabs.
- Remove the shroud protector.





6. Remove the upper steering column trim cover retaining screw (3).
7. Remove the upper steering column trim cover.
8. Remove the IP trim panel.





9. Remove the multifunction switch retaining screws.
10. Disconnect the multifunction switch electrical connections.
11. Remove the multifunction switch.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the multifunction switch.
2. Install the multifunction switch retaining screws.
- Tighten the multifunction switch retaining screws to7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).

3. Route the electrical harness and connect electrical connections.
4. Install the IP trim panel.





5. Install the upper steering column trim cover.
6. Install the upper steering column trim cover retaining screw (3).
- Tighten the upper steering trim cover retaining screw to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).





7. Install the lower steering column trim cover.
- Ensure that the slots on the lower trim cover engage with the tabs on the upper trim cover.
- Tilt the lower trim cover up and snap the trim covers together.





8. Install the lower steering column trim cover retaining screws (2).
- Tighten the lower steering column trim cover retaining screws to 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.).
9. Install steering wheel.
10. Install tilt lever.
11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
