DTC 023
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONThe BCM monitors the state of the RAP output by checking the voltage available at the BCM program input.
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The BCM will be ready to test for and set this
DTC when:
^ The system voltage is at least 9 volts and not more than 18 volts
^ All passenger doors are closed
^ The rear compartment deck-lid is closed
^ The hood is closed
^ The ignition is ON
^ The above conditions are present for 10 seconds.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
The BCM detects one of the following incorrect voltage conditions on the BCM program input:
^ The BCM detects 0 volts while the RAP is enabled
^ The BCM detects B+ while the RAP is disabled
^ Either condition lasts for more than 50 milliseconds.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ The DTC is set in the BCM
^ The RAP feature will not deactivate if the RAP output is shorted to B+
^ The RAP driven devices will not operate at all if the RAP output is shorted to ground
^ The RAP driven devices will not operate in RAP if the B+ supply for the RAP output is open.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
The DTC will clear when the fault is corrected and the DTC memory clearing procedure is completed.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
If the only DTC that flashes is a history code, DTC 33, the problem is intermittent. Refer to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Diagrams.
