Front Seat Back Replacement (RPO AQ9)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the front bucket seat from the vehicle.
2. Remove the bolts from the hinge arm trim cover, and remove the trim cover from the recliner mechanism (2).
3. Remove the bolts (4,5) attaching the recliner mechanism (2) to the seat cushion (3).
4. Unsnap the seat back frame (6) from the seat back pivot bushing (7) in order to remove the seat back (1) from the seat cushion (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the front seat back pivot bushing (7).
2. Install the seat back (1) to the seat cushion frame (3). Align the pivot shaft on the seat back frame (6) with the hole in the seat cushion frame (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the bolt (4,5) to the recliner mechanism (2).

Tighten the bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the hinge arm trim cover to the recliner mechanism (2), and install the bolts to the trim cover.

Tighten the bolts to 1.7 N.m (15 lb in).

5. Install the front bucket seat.
