Air Temperature Door Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the instrument panel carrier.
2. Remove the temperature control cable from the module.
3. Remove the air distributor case screws.
4. Remove the air distributor cover.
5. Remove the heater case screws.
6. Remove the heater case cover by inserting a flat bladed tool in the retaining slot and pushing upward on the retainers.
Push the tabs rearward at the same time.




7. Loosen the lower mode door retaining linkage screw.




8. Push the mode door out of the way.




9. Pushing upward on the inside of the air distributor case, pull the temperature door outward from the top hinge hole.




10. Remove the door from the lower hinge hole.
Pull door out through the mode door opening.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Align and install the bottom temperature door into the lower hinge hole of the air distributor case.




2. Install the door to the upper hinge hole.




3. Reinstall the mode door.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




4. Install the lower mode door retaining linkage screw.

Tighten
Tighten the linkage screw to 1.8 N.m (16 lb in).

5. Install the heater core case cover and retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the heater core case cover retaining screws to 1.8 N.m (16 lb in).

6. Install the air distributor case cover and retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the air distributor case screws to 1.8 N.m (16 lb in).




7. Install the temperature control cable to the module.
8. Install the instrument panel carrier.
