CHANGE OIL
The IPC illuminates the change oil indicator when the following occurs:
^ The PCM determines when the engine oil needs to be changed. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination. When the ignition is turned to RUN the indicator turns on for approximately 60 seconds. The indicator is turned on every following ignition cycle until the indicator is reset. To reset the indicator:
- Turn the ignition to RUN.
- Press and hold the trip odometer reset button for approximately 12 seconds. When completed the indicator will flash 2 times.
^ The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle.

LOW OIL LEVEL
The IPC illuminates the low oil level indicator when the following occurs:
^ The PCM detects a low oil level condition. The PCM monitors the engine oil level signal circuit. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.
^ The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle.
