Backup Lamp Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





2. Disconnect the backup lamp switch electrical connector.





3. Remove the backup lamp switch.

Installation Procedure
1. Apply pipe sealant with Teflon to the threads of the backup lamp switch. Use GM P/N 1052080 or the equivalent.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the backup lamp switch.
^ Tighten the backup lamp switch to 38 Nm (28 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the backup lamp switch electrical connector.
4. Lower the vehicle.
