P/S Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Drain the engine coolant from the engine. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling system.
3. Remove the power steering gear outlet hoses (4) and the hose clamps (3) from the power steering cooler (1).
4. Remove the hose clamps from the radiator hoses at the power steering cooler (1).
5. Remove the radiator hoses from the power steering cooler (1).
6. Remove the power steering cooler (1) from the radiator support bracket.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the power steering cooler (1) to the radiator support bracket.

Important: Ensure that the power steering cooler is installed with the "ENGINE" marking pointed toward the engine and the "RADIATOR" marking pointing toward the radiator (drivers side of the vehicle).

Alignment marks on the power steering cooler should align with alignment marks on the radiator hoses so the power steering cooler is properly positioned with the power steering circuit outlets pointing straight down.

2. Install the radiator hoses to the power steering cooler (1).
3. Install the radiator hose clamps to the radiator hoses at the power steering cooler.
4. Install the power steering gear outlet hoses (4) and the hose clamps (3) to the power steering cooler (1).
5. Refill the engine with coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling system
6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
7. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
