A/C Refrigerant Filter Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
IMPORTANT: Cap or tap the open end of the condenser and the evaporator line immediately in order to prevent contamination.
3. Remove the bolt to the evaporator tube from the condenser.
IMPORTANT: The nuts from the filter.
4. Remove the filter.
Discard the O-rings.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Lubricate the O-rings with clean 535 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Install the O-rings onto the liquid line.
3. Install the evaporator tube into the refrigerant filter. Hand tighten the nuts.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the evaporator tube bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the evaporator tube bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
5. Ensure that the evaporator line is bottomed out into the refrigerant filter.
Tighten
Tighten the filter nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
