Multifunction, Turn Signal Lever

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraints (SIR). Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the steering column trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement- On Vehicle.
3. Remove the multifunction switch (2) retaining screw.





4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (3) from the multifunction switch (1).
5. Remove the multifunction switch (1) from the steering column (2).

Installation Procedure





1. Position the multifunction switch (1) on the steering column (2) while depressing the spring loaded horn pin.
2. Connect the electrical connectors to the multifunction switch (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





3. Install the multifunction switch (2) retaining screw.
Tighten
Tighten the multifunction switch retaining screws to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).
4. Install the steering column trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle.
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
