Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (Pontiac)

Removal Procedure




1. Apply the park brake.
2. Adjust the shift lever to LOW.
3. Using a small flat-bladed tool, remove the ignition switch bezel.




4. Using a flat-bladed tool, disengage the accessory trim plate from the I/P.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
6. Remove the cigar lighter from the accessory trim plate.
7. Remove the I/P accessory switch mounting plate bracket bolts and bracket.
8. Remove the accessory trim plate.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the I/P accessory switch mounting plate bracket and bolts.

Tighten the I/P accessory switch mounting plate bracket bolts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

2. Install the cigar lighter to the I/P accessory trim plate.
3. Connect the electrical connectors.
4. Install the I/P accessory trim plate by pressing the plate into place until fully seated.




5. Install the ignition switch bezel. Press the bezel into place until fully seated.
6. Adjust the shift lever to PARK.
7. Release the park brake.
