Exhaust Crossover Pipe: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
2. Remove thermostat bypass pipe.
3. Remove the heat shield bolts.
4. Remove the heat shield.





5. Remove the crossover pipe nuts.
6. Remove the crossover pipe.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the crossover pipe.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the crossover nuts.
Tighten the exhaust crossover pipe nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the heat shield.
4. Install the heat shield bolts.
Tighten the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
5. Install thermostat bypass pipe.
6. Install the air cleaner assembly.
7. Inspect for exhaust leaks.
