Blower Motor: Service and Repair

BLOWER MOTOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
The blower motor and fan are located in the lower right hand corner of the HVAC module assembly. Service this component as an assembly only.




1. Remove the right side Instrument Panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
2. Move the Body Control Module (BCM) aside.
3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.




4. Remove the blower motor retaining screws.
5. Remove the blower motor and fan assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the blower motor and fan assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 5 N.m (45 lb in).




3. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
4. Install the BCM into position.
5. Install the right side IP insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
