A/C Refrigerant Filter Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the right front fender liner. It may be necessary to turn the front drive wheels all the way to the right.
IMPORTANT: Immediately cap or tape the open end of the condenser and evaporator line to prevent contamination.
4. Remove the bolt at the evaporator line from the condenser.
IMPORTANT: The nuts and the ferrules will remain on the line. Do not try to remove.
5. Remove the A/C refrigerant filter.
6. Lubricate the O-rings with clean mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil and install them onto the liquid line.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the liquid line into the A/C refrigerant filter. Hand tighten the nuts.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the evaporator hose bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the evaporator hose bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Ensure that the liquid line is bottomed out into the filter.
Tighten
Tighten the filter nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
4. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
5. Install the right front fender liner.
6. Lower the vehicle.
