Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
3. Remove the windshield side upper garnish molding.
4. Remove the instrument panel defroster grille.
5. Remove the instrument panel endcaps.
6. Remove the instrument panel insulators.
7. Remove the instrument panel compartment.
8. Remove the passenger inflator module.
9. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate.
10. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate.
11. Remove the instrument panel cluster.
12. Remove the radio.
13. Remove the steering column.
14. Remove the cup holder.
15. Remove the front floor console.
16. Remove the ignition switch.
17. Remove the fog lamp switch.
18. Remove the instrument panel upper bolt covers.
19. Disconnect the electrical connections from the electrical junction box.
20. Remove the screws (2,3,4) connecting the instrument panel (1) to the cross car beam (6).
21. Remove the instrument panel (1) from the cross car beam (6).

Installation Procedure






Important: When installing the instrumental panel carrier to the vehicle, ensure that the cowl seal is seated properly to the cowl. Failure to do so may cause a vibration rattle between the carrier and the cowl.

1. Install the instrument panel (1) to the cross car beam (6).
2. Install the screws (2,3,4) connecting the instrument panel (1) to the cross car beam (6).
3. Connect the electrical connectors to the electrical junction box.
4. Install the fog lamp switch.
5. Install the ignition switch.
6. Install the front floor console.
7. Install the cup holder.
8. Install the steering column.
9. Install the radio.
10. Install the instrument panel cluster.
11. Install the instrument panel cluster trim plate.
12. Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate.
13. Install the passenger inflator module.
14. Install the instrument panel compartment.
15. Install the instrument panel insulators.
16. Install the instrument panel endcaps.
17. Install the instrument panel defroster grille.
18. Install the windshield side upper garnish molding.
19. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
20. Connect the battery negative cable.
