Coolant Pipe Replacement - IntakeRemoval Procedure
1. Drain cooling system.
2. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.
3. Remove the coolant inlet pipe bolts through the exhaust manifold.
4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
6. Remove the engine splash shield.
7. Remove the bolts from the transaxle-to-engine block brace and remove the brace.
8. Remove the radiator hose from the coolant inlet pipe.
9. Remove the coolant inlet pipe to oil pan bolt.
10. Remove the coolant inlet pipe, thermostat and seal.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the seal and the inlet pipe.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the inlet pipe to the oil pan bolt.
Tighten the inlet pipe bolt to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the radiator hose to the inlet pipe.
4. Install the transaxle-to-engine block brace.
5. Install the engine splash shield.
6. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Install the coolant inlet pipe bolt through the exhaust manifold.
Tighten the coolant inlet pipe bolt to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.).
9. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
10. Fill the cooling system.
