Heater Hose: Service and Repair
HEATER HOSES REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Squeeze the tabs on the quick-connect (3) in order to disconnect the heater hose (1) from the heater pipe.
3. Remove the heater hose with the quick-connect.
4. Remove the heater hose and clamps from the heater core.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the heater hoses and clamps to the heater core.
2. Install the heater hose (1) with the quick-connect (3) to the heater pipe.
3. Pull on the hose in order to verify the connection.
IMPORTANT: Inspect the installation of all of the heater hose routing in order to avoid contact with any obstruction that may result in a damaged hose. Some hoses are equipped with conduit in areas where rubbing may occur. When replacing a hose, ensure that the following components are in the same location as the original components:
^ The conduit
^ The heat sleeving
4. Inspect the routing of the heater hoses ensuring they are not rubbing to cause damage.
5. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
