Service Bay Test

DESCRIPTION
The EVAP Service Bay Test raises the engine coolant temperature (ECT) threshold so that the temperature sensitive evaporative emission (EVAP) diagnosis tests can run while in service environments. When the EVAP tests are run the Service Bay Test will indicate a passed or will indicate a specific diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has failed. The EVAP Service Bay Test can be used to verity an existing condition and verify that the EVAP system is OK after a repair is completed.

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE TEST
1. The ignition is ON.
2. The battery voltage is between 9.0 and 18.0 volts.
3. The engine coolant temperature (ECT) is less than 70°C (158°F).
4. The fuel level is 20 - 85 percent of capacity.
5. The vehicle speed is less than 5 km/h (3 mph).
6. Stored DTCs have been cleared.

TEST PROCEDURE
1. Install a scan tool.
2. With a scan tool, select the Service Bay Test in the special functions menu.

IMPORTANT: If any of the conditions for running the test are not met upon activating the Service Bay Test, you will be instructed to exit and run the test when the conditions for running the test have been achieved.

3. Follow the instructions on the scan tool.
4. Return to the previous diagnostic procedure.
