Steering Column Trim Covers

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the retaining screws from the lower steering column trim cover (3).
2. Remove the upper column trim cover (1) tilting up and unsnapping from the lower column trim cover hinges (3).
3. Remove the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement- On Vehicle.
4. Remove the lower column trim cover (3) from the steering column (2).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the lower column trim cover (3) to the steering column (2).
2. Install the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle.
3. Install the upper column trim cover (1) to the steering column (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the lower steering column trim cover (3) retaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the column screws to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.).
