Defroster Door Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the cross vehicle beam.
2. Remove the defroster door. Refer to Defroster Actuator Replacement in HVAC Systems - Manual.
3. Remove the mode actuator.
4. Remove the air distribution case cover retaining screws (1).
5. Remove the air distribution case cover (2).
6. Remove and discard the air distribution case seal.
7. Remove the linkage between the defroster door and the heater door on the left side of the HVAC module.




8. Remove the defroster door (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Align the defroster door assist spring to the HVAC module case.




1. Install the defroster door (1).




2. Install the air distribution case cover (2).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the air distributor cover retaining screws (1).

Tighten
Tighten the air distributor cover screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

4. Install the defroster door. Refer to Defroster Actuator Replacement in HVAC Systems - Manual.
5. Install the mode actuator.
6. Install the cross vehicle beam.
