Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair

ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the engine oil drain plug in order to drain the engine oil.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the engine oil level sensor.




4. Remove the bolt from the engine oil level sensor.
5. Remove the engine oil level sensor from the oil pan.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the engine oil level sensor to the oil pan.

Tighten
Tighten the engine oil level sensor bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).




2. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the engine oil level sensor.
3. Install the engine oil drain plug.

Tighten
Tighten the engine oil drain plug to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Refill the engine with new engine oil. Refer to Capacities - Approximate Fluid and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.
6. Start the engine and inspect for oil leaks.
