77. Timing Chain and Sprocket Installation

Timing Chain and Sprockets Installation (L67)

^ Tools Required
- J36660-A Torque Angle Meter





1. Install the timing chain on the sprockets. Align the timing marks.





2. Install the timing chain, the crankshaft sprocket, and the camshaft sprocket.

Notice: Refer to Special Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the camshaft sprocket bolt.
^ Tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.). Use J36660-A to tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt an additional 90 degrees.





4. Install the timing chain dampener.
^ Tighten the timing chain dampener bolt to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
